I Control My Temper, It Does Not Control Me!
Folks like us with Autism Spectrum issues are very sensitive people. We are, for the most part, a lot more sensitive than others. We feel things very deeply. In the past, we let our emotions get the best of us. and were daily, or even hourly arguing with someone about something. Because we now understand how sensitive we are, we can take a moment when we start feeling upset, an ask ourselves what the real problem is. Then we can either table it, talk about it, or journal about it later so we have the clarity we need.
Affirmation: My feelings matter enough to me to get clear about what they are
Goal: Instead of arguing, I am getting clear about what I feel, first.
Tools: Keep a notebook for a journal and write feelings down.
