The economic news out of the EU continues to disappoint. The U.K. becomes the 11th EU member nation to enter into recession, according to data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS). Last week, ONS revealed that GDP growth for the U.K. was negative for two consecutive quarters putting the economy technically back into recession. GDP remains 4.3 percent below its first quarter of 2008 peak.Reaction to the data is mixed. On one hand, the decline in GDP was caused by a staggering three percent decline in construction output. You know what they say about credit cards? That you’re not liable for unauthorised transactions done with your card, well, they neglect to say that you have to fight your credit card company to get those charges removed, and that’s exactly what I experienced when some shady company put a subscription fee on my credit card, I discovered it 3 months in and didn’t even realise I’d signed up for this service but its one of those hidden online freebees.
So to avoid such traps have to avoid using my credit card online, but I can’t use my debit card...
